The most important relationship in life is the one you have with yourself. So let's talk about ##selflove this year.
"When we value and respect ourselves and our needs, we move from a place of calm and balance, and we reflect this sense of self into reality and the people around us. It allows us to draw healthy boundaries, and help us establish our priorities in life.
#Selflove is also accepting ourselves for our lights and shadows, and bringing this acceptance and compassion to others.
Be your #Valentine today.

One of the most common reasons why healthy eating resolutions do not last is emotional eating. Eating in response to emotions like anxiety, anger, frustration, disappointment or simply feeling bad about themselves is very common, and can not be resolved with diets.
You need to learn how to recognize and deal with those emotions and how to disengage the behavior ( the eating ) from the emotions and then find a safe release for the emotions. This is a process that is difficult to do on your own.
Secret night eating, small binges, serial dieting, obsessions with food, both healthy and non, a restrictive and healthy behavior during the day followed by full packets of cookies at night, are all signs of an emotional relationship with food.
Food should be a natural, happy, nourishing, serene and pleasurable experience and there is no reason why this is going to be with the right guidance. Follow the aptly named Healthy Gourmet blog, for more tips and a happy and mindful relationship with food!
My Emotional Eating program will come later this Spring, so watch out this space or register your interest at thehealthygourmet.co.uk/

It's the little things we do every day that really matters. Let's see ourselves, our habits, and the behaviors we want to change as a sum of all the little things we do.
In this way, everything becomes achievable. Most of all it means that we start moving from the place were we are now to the place where we want to go, meaning that we are stuck, but we are growing and we are changing.
From the neuroscience perspective, our habits, are neuronal pathways that create a strong connection. What fires together, wire together. That also means that creating a completely new habit requires a lot of effort, while adding a small habit linked to that pre-existing neuronal connection requires less effort, and it is much easier to create.
Then you add another small habit....

Greens are the most important of the vegetables. They are usually rich in folate, magnesium, vitamin K, chlorophyll, and many other vitamins, minerals and phytonutirents, beneficial compounds that can be found only in fruits and vegetables. But you don't need to get stuck in a rut, and go for kale. These for example, are baby chard leaves rich in anti-oxidants properties and great for all the autumn and winter salads.
Try them with raw and roasted beetroots, heirloom tomatoes, purple radishes or berries. #culinarymedicine #foodishealth #healthyeating #nutritiontips #nutritioncoaching #hearthealthyrecipes #hearthealthy #healthcoach #healthcoaching #healthygourmet #wellness #wellbeing #iinhealthcoach #IIN #healthyfoodblogger #healthyfoodblog #italianfoodbloggers
