This is the “banana milk” that I used for my “Buckwheat, banana & cinnamon pancakes” and it is such a great substitute for any other nuts or non-nuts milk that I wanted to share.
It is a great “milk” to use for pancake recipes and even some baking. In this recipe I used cinnamon to give taste and flavour to the banana, but you could also use some vanilla paste or pods.
NO ADDED SUGAR.
There is no need to add sugar, but the sugar naturally presents in the banana, will give a sweet taste to milk and whatever recipe you would like to use the milk with.
MAKE SURE THE BANANA IS COLD
This is very important, because it will give fluffiness and lightness to the pancakes or baking.
HOW TO MAKE BANANA MILK
Ingredients
- 1 x very ripe banana refrigerated for at least 30 min
- 3 tbsp. of cold water
- A generous dash of cinnamon or vanilla essence
Simply blend all the ingredients and use immediately, otherwise keep refrigerated for half and hour.

This is such a useful recipe—thank you. It’s so hard to find the balance between healthy food and things the kids actually like, and this strikes a balance. I think it’s the combination of both cinnamon and banana to sweeten it instead of sugar that really seals the deal.
Thanks, Beatriz, yes that was the aim of the recipe! I hope you are having a good start of the year!
