Buckwheat is a healthier option than traditional white flour as it is less refined, and despite its name is not a grain and it is gluten-free. It is quite nutritious and has a good amino-acids profile, good for vegetarians and vegans.
Low in sugar
These pancakes are also low-sugar as they take their sweetness from the banana rather than added sugar or sweetener. They are a great choice for those with a sweet tooth or that are easily addicted to sugar because they don’t spike up your blood sugar levels.
Made with banana milk.
Banana milk, is a perfect substitute for almond milk, keeping the pancakes nuts-free and environmentally friendly, minimizing food waste.
They are nutrients dense
The great thing about these pancakes is that, not only they are delicious, but they are also packed with micronutrients, as all the ingredients are wholesome and nutrients rich.
Raw cacao contains an amazing amount of nutrients, like magnesium, iron, polyphenols, and traces of other minerals and other phytochemicals that hacks into the pleasure centre of the brain.
Magnesium is a mineral needed to adequately respond to stress, and that is often deficient in our modern diet. Bananas are rich in magnesium and potassium, which help regulate blood pressure and recovery after a workout. Bananas also contain vitamin B5 and B6 which further help in supporting your adrenals, the organs that help make the stress hormones.
The polyphenols present in cacao powder, have anti-inflammatory properties, while cinnamon helps lower blood sugar levels.
They are delicious and light
But the most notable thing about these banana and chocolate pancakes is that they are utterly delicious! Easy to make, they are perfect with a drizzle of maple syrup, and some fresh strawberries or a strawberries coulis.
